Betsy Stern, Children's Musician - Rhythms of the World Concert Tuesday, August 5 at 2:00 pm.

Betsy Stern is a native of Berkeley, California, and grew up performing with her dad, a pianist and composer whose songs were published by Disney
and also used on "Captain Kangaroo." Betsy's dad passed onto her a huge repertoire of music, from children's to Jazz and Blues to World. Betsy
recently released her children's CD, "Foyo," which has won the Gold Artist Award from RadioIndy.com. She is on tour throughout the United States this
year.

"Rhythms of the World" is the name of both one of my programs and also my overall approach to music for kids. I grew up with music from around the
world, and love to share these songs with kids because the rhythms are so strong and fun. Kids respond very quickly to the music, and it creates a
bond for them as they dance and play the percussion instruments that I bring along. It also provides them with the opportunity to learn about
other cultures.

Autism, A Path To Recovery. A Tried and True Gluten/Casein/Soy Free Cookbook

Local Author - Margie Reichwald Tuesday, August 5 at 10:30 am & 6:30 pm will talk about her son's autism and a cookbook she has written.

In November of 2007 my son, Adam, was diagnosed with Autism. The moment when the Doctor said the words "Autism" I instantly broke into tears. My world had shut down for a moment.  I had to get a grip...and I knew it.  Adam was still Adam.  So....that is what I did. I pulled Adam out by changing his diet.  I removed all gluten, casein(dairy) and soy from Adam's diet. Not only did Adam's behavior change, so did his overall health.  The link between what our children put in their bellies and Autism is astounding. This is when I decided to share Adam's story with other families who are going through what my husband and I went through. I wrote a Gluten/Casein/Soy Free cookbook from a mom's standpoint. I want to show families that it can be easy…and they don't need to re-invent the wheel. I'm not a gourmet cook, I'm not an author…I'm just a mom that was told my son has Autism.

Author Kelly Jones will visit Monday, August 11 at 2:30 pm to talk about and sign her new mystery chapter book - Notorious Nora.

Nora loves a good mystery-particularly when she can solve it. Bright and fun-loving, Nora lives her 6th grade life worrying about tests, asthma, friends, and cheerleading tryouts. Of course she's always on the lookout for the next mystery and this time she's found it!

For all the fans of Eragon and Eldest - the third title in the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini will be released Saturday, September 20, 2008. BRISINGR is one of the first words I thought of for this title, and it's always felt right to me,” said Christopher Paolini. “As the first ancient-language word that Eragon learns, it has held particular significance for his legacy as a Dragon Rider. In this new book, it will be revealed to be even more meaningful than even Eragon could have known.”

NEW TITLE FOR "ONE BOOK, ONE COMMUNITY" READ

Set in NM on the border between a small village and the huge llano (plains), Bless Me, Ultima is Rudolfo Anaya's much acclaimed and award-winning coming-of-age novel from the Hispanic perspective. Antonio is torn between his father's cowboy side of the family who ride on the llano and his mother's village and farming relations. Many conflicts are presented here: Hispanic vs. American culture, Catholicism vs. paganism, parents' expectations vs. the child's desires, Spanish blood vs. native blood. Antonio's life is forever altered when his aunt Ultima, a curandera (healer) comes to live with the family; she teaches Antonio many things, most importantly how to gather the self-knowledge that will help carry him into adulthood.
